How to run ISO/CSO games in PSP

IMPORTANT: Only works in FAT PSP with CUSTOM FIRMWARE, any version. If you don't have a CFW, you can make one here. If you have the OFFICIAL FIRMWARE 5.03 or PSP 3000, sorry guys, still NO HACKS for that.

DISCLAIMER: Do at your own risk. I do not hold any obligation if you bricked your PSP throughout the process. I tried this already and it worked without bricking my PSP. I think this process has 0 probability of bricking your PSP.

1. Connect your PSP through USB to your computer.
2. Download your ISO/CSO game. Enable USB mode in your PSP and make a new folder named "ISO" (all CAPS) in the root of your PSP, that is beside your PSP, MUSIC, VIDEO, PICTURE folders.
3. Transfer your ISO/CSO game in the "ISO folder".
4. Disable the USB mode of your PSP and turn it off. Remove the battery and replace it again.
5. Hold the RIGHT trigger as you slide the power ON button. A screen with black background and small red and white letters will appear. Sometimes, it takes me 3 times to make this work.
6. Go to Configuration, press X.
7. Make the GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW to CURRENTLY IN: 1.50 Kernel by pressing X.
8. Then select BACK and EXIT.
9. Turn ON your PSP and press the SELECT Button. Make the UMD ISO MODE to SONY NP9660 by pressing the right arrow button in your PSP. Then press X in EXIT.
10. Go to Gameà Memory Stick. And there's your ISO/CSO game. Press X and you'll be able to play it.

How to make PSX games run in your PSP

Do you miss your old PSX games? You want them to play in your PSP?
then this is what you are looking for!!

What you need:
1. CD of your PSX game
2. Alcohol 120% which you can download here:
DOWNLOAD Alcohol 120% this is free trial for 15 days. Install it and you will have to restart your PC.
3. PsGUI123beta which you can download here: Download PsGUI123beta
4. PSP with Customfirmware any version. If you don't have one, you can find a guide here. I made that post especially for beginners.

Procedures:
1. Run Alcohol 120%
2. Insert your PSX games in your PC
3. Click on image making wizard in alcohol 120% and pick what drive the PSX disc is located then press next.
4. Change the output file to ISO. Also select where to send the iso to and what to name it and press ok and wait for it to convert it into an iso. It takes a while depending on the size of your disc.
5. Check the folder where you indicated to send the ISO file if the ISO file is there.
6. Now extract the PsGUI123beta. Open the folder and run the PopstationGUI, the blue PS controller icon.
7. There should be an option to browse for your file and an output to choose where you want the file to be sent when converted. Browse your converted ISO file and choose where the converted file will be outputted. Then click Go.
There is also an option to customize you're the eboot and to preview it. You can click them with no harm.
8. Once finished, you will find your output folder now contains the eboot.pbp and keys.bin. Select all and Press Ctrl+C.
9. Connect your PSP to the computer and enable USB mode.
10. Go to PSP>GAME folder. Make a new folder with a title for your game. Then transfer there the eboot.pbp and keys.bin.
11. Now, disable USB mode and go to PSP Menu Game>Memory Stick. Press X and you will find there your PSX game.
12. Enjoy!

Toughest Race Ever

Wooh! Team Philippines finished second at the Amazing Race Asia Season 3 Finale. I was really surprised when they qualify for the Final Race. Despite the Geoff short-tempered attitude, they were able to make it. They made their kababayans proud and amazed. Congrats guys!

The fight among the final three racers was really tight. It only subdued when they got to fly to Thailand. I was betting on the actress and heiress, they really rock! They perform each task with no worries on how they will look and how tough it is for they trust each other so well. They kept their confidence at high even if they were aware that they are losing. They got the best teamwork spirit! If not only for that flight problem, they could have won the $100,000 prize. I was holding my breath until the last task in hope that they can still keep up with the two other racers. Yet, they failed and ended in the third rank. Tsk tsk! Did the second and third racers won also the same amount of prize money? The chest they were carrying also have money in it, right?

Crop circles

Crop circles are stunning and incredible if viewed from the top. They are believed to be works of extraterrestrial beings here on earth to communicate to us. Crop circles had been appearing in fields during summer nights. There had also been evidences that unknown flying objects had been observed hovering above the fields before crop circles appeared within minutes. But some believe that these circles are just products of human creativity and efforts. How then can people make such perfect shapes in large fields within the night? They had made experiments to replicate the shapes and they are also proven that certain number of people can really make such art during a period of time. That these crop circles are just made to play pranks for others to believe that there are creatures besides the earth.

Connect to the internet with 3G phone as modem

I have been using the Smart communications to connect through the net using my N70 at home. Since I don't have any internet connection, it has become of help to me to set-up this connection since it puts away the hassle of going to internet shops just to send and read mails, update my multiply account and friendster. For only P10/half hour, you can have an internet connection at the comfort of your home. I have a laptop and I can connect through the net whenever I needed it. Also, it's prepaid so, you can control your usage. And the speed is 460 kbps, which is decent enough. I haven't tried this with Globe.

What you will need:

1. Smart buddy SIM with at least 30 pesos load.
2. Smart GPRS activated 3G Nokia phone (to activate type SET GPRS "phone model"(e.g. N70) and send to 211, you will receive configuration msg and follow it and set it as default)
3. Laptop or PC
4. USB cable to connect your phone to your laptop or PC
5. Installed Nokia PC Suite for your phone version in your laptop or PC

Procedure:

1. Make sure your phone is in dual mode. If not, go to Menu>Tools>Settings>Network>Network Mode.
2. Connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable and run the Nokia PC suite. There are times that once you plug it, the PC Suite automatically start-up.
3. Click "CONNECT TO THE INTERNET" icon on the PC suite menu. Then a window will open and you will see the following process running:

"Opening port"

"Verifying username and password"

"Connected"

Once connected, you can start surfing the net.

If there's a connection error, it will either be you haven't activated your GPRS properly or you run out of load.

Red Mobile is the Network in Town

Red mobile is from the old Umobile sim. Some may not heard that a umobile sim had been existing in the country. You might feel betrayed because you haven't heard about it and it had been giving free 100 load every month and it offers cheap txt and call rates for only Php 0.50! It is now owned by Smart under the brand Red Mobile and I doubt that Smart will continue to grant 100 free load every month. Due to its lack of advertisement and errors in its technicalities (there had been users who make unlimited international calls without paying a cent!), it hadn't reached the 10000 quota subscribers to continue its service. Its number is a vanity one: 0999-300****. Don't fret. Let's just say that you had not been lucky to be included in their sample during the experimental process and you haven't been entitled to its odd service. A new Red mobile sim will be delivered to the 6000 umobile subscribers to replace their old sim.

It had been rumored that it will be out in the market before the year ends and its teasers had been airing already in ABS and GMA. So, it will only be a matter of time before you can check how good it can be.

Unfortunately, the sim only works with a 3G phone. I think buying a new cellphone just to try it out will not be practical. Just wait and see what others will say before you buy a new one.

The rate is still the same with that of umobile. Its cheapest load is P10 and you can still make calls with that amount. With the same rate for txt and call, people will then prefer to just call than waste effort in typing text. How is the network coverage then? I hope that it won't be like that of Sun in which when you are in a building, you are out of range.

They also have a WAP browsing rate. But it's a bit expensive than that of Smart and Globe browsing rate. Let's hope that it is much faster than the two. Can it also connect to the internet using a laptop and a phone as modem like what Smart and Globe can do? I'll keep you posted once I tried it.

In addition, Smart retailers can now reload Red Mobile users. It is like having 3 reload services with just one sim: TNT, SMART and RED MOBILE. My Smartload menu had been updated with red mobile load below it. I can't contact the Smart Customer Service to clarify if the loadwallet for Smart is still the same for Red mobile. That is, I don't have to reload 2 different loadwallets.

Ef: A tale of memories

The story revolves around the life of twins (Kei and Chihiro). They had been friends with Hiro, a manga artist who discloses his identity because he is still a student, ever since they are small. Kei had been jealous of Chihiro and Hiro’s closeness because Chihiro can think of good stories while Hiro draws them for her. She felt left behind. But due to an accident, Chihiro had lost her left eye and also incurred short-term amnesia which makes her forget after all her memories after the accident within 13 hours. So, Chihiro has to keep a diary that starts with “to tomorrow’s me from yesterday’s me” and she has to read them every waking time to keep track with her life. I found it funny when she woke up and said “Why am I this old and big?”. She had to stop going to school and she had been instructed not to be friends with others. Her life is shown as a girl tied in chains in which her 12 years of existence before is the only length she can move. Then she met Renji and her life changed from routinary days to days filled with happiness and new experiences. Renji had unleashed her from the chains of her disability. On the other hand, Kei is in the same school as Hiro. She had been looking for him ever since. She always reminds him of his obligations at school and how his absences can fail him to move to next year level. Then Hiro met Miyamoto on a Christmas eve and found out that they are students from the same school. Kei felt left behind again. Hiro is a person who believes that once he gets involved to something, he can’t just leave it as if nothing happens. So, when he got stuck in the love triangle between Kei and Miyamoto, he chose Miyamoto for she had been the color that had been missing in his life. But they are still friends with Kei and Kei had found her someone in the person of Hiro’s bestfriend. It ended in a happy way.

What I can’t figure out is the role of Himura, Kuze and the girl who had been appearing in their dreams. I don’t see a need to include that fictional part in the plot.

The anime shares good inspirations on having a dream and working to make it happen. I am not particular if an anime is well created and edited, what is important is how it is able to convey stories to viewers. It is a drama but it is not a slow paced one. I also noticed that included sexy and shower scenes to appeal to boy audiences. It is an anime version of the 50 first dates and differ only that Chihiro can remember little of what happened before which makes her act like normal people. I also like the way in which a novel was inserted and it was able to correlate with the plot. The story was also depicted using the novel through imagery.

House season 5

I want the old team back. I have read from news articles in the net that this season will focus on the lives of each character in the series. Thirteen's Huntingtons and bisexuality will be probed, Cameron will have a case, Cuddy will have a lover, and it is now time for Huddy to shine. Can House and Wilson's friendship be revived? Cameron and House episodes here will be minimal that's why I think I am not going to watch this until it is finished. I still hope that Hameron will still be a couple in the future. I am a Hameron fan though David Shore had announced already that this couple's love story has already ended and will not be touched in the coming episodes. If not for this season, maybe DS can include them in the next season, if that happens I will sure watch them even if I had to stream online. And it seems that the classic House looks has been abandoned (remember the beating heart, the collapsed lung, the floating corpuscles and the syringe being injected in the bloodstream?). Season 3 and 4 had deviated from it already as well as their medico storylines. Season 1 and 2 had all inspired me to be a diagnostician and had taught me new knowledge on medicine and illnesses. Remember that they had been popular because it is a show which not only entertain people but also give people the idea on the way of life in the hospital. That is why it is favored than Grey's Anatomy which is more of a medical drama with too little on the medical part. House had improved my vocabulary on medical issues and I started reading medical books. Come on, bring the old storyline back. I want more thrill!

Update: Spoilers. House's father is dead. Wilson had convince him to deliver a eulogy. He is not his real father.

Cuddy had planned to adopt a child but House is being against it. She had confided this with Wilson but House found out about it. And yup, romance is forming between the two of them. Wilson is making moves for House to express what he feels for Cuddy and tricked Cuddy that he is also interested in her. Makes it a love triangle. But he only did that to stir House. Huddy had already locked lips and there's a part where House grabbed her breast. They are sharing office because Cuddy's had been wrecked due to hostage drama.

Thirteen is participating in clinical trials for Foreman's drugs for Huntington. She had a one night stand with a girl who is suffering from illness and the girl only did that for House to diagnose her.

Chase and Cameron are still having little exposures.

Perfume: Pictures

Jean-Baptiste Grenouille is a person who has a gift for smelling things. He can identify things around him through his nose. With his fascination with smells, he wanted to capture everything that has smell. Later, he discovered that the scent of flowers can be kept inside a small bottle called perfumes. With the guidance of Giuseppe Baldini, a perfumer, he was able to learn the art of creating scents. He believed that he can really capture the smell of all things. He tried to experiment. But the experiment failed him because he can't even keep the scent of a copper or a cat. He then learned that an ultimate perfume is made up of twelve basic scents. He was told that there had been a legend sometime ago that the ultimate perfume, which sent the people to experience paradise, was made from 13 different scents in which the last scent remains a mystery. One day while in his sanctuary, he discovered that he can't smell himself yet he can smell everything around him. He became frustrated and came to realize that he will pass this world without people knowing that he once existed. He wanted to teach the world that he could be felt. Then, his journey to create the ultimate perfume began. He set out to kill twelve beautiful women and extracted their scents through distillation. He was able to finish the perfume that let the people experience love and beauty. There was only one thing the perfume could not do. It could not turn Jean-Baptiste into a person who could love and be loved like everyone else.

As for me, it's my frustration to capture the beauty of the things that fascinate me. I tried it with a camera, but still I can't do it. First of all, I don't have the talent. Yet even if I could, I can't instruct a camera to capture the way I see things. The only way to preserve them is through my memory. Let's hope that I won't have that "eraser" in my head someday.

Movie: Wanted

Wanted movie is a bit too much fictional. I watched it with a slight to no interest mood. The only part I got excited with is when (actor) started his training and the part when he revenge for his father's death and kill all those involved in the brotherhood (the climax). Angelina's role here is not for a supporting role or for a lead actress role. She didn't act most of the time, just stand there and be included in the scene. I was disappointed to see this film. Though the sounds are really awakening because they are loud and thrilling, I still can't put myself deeper into it for it seems like I am watching a Filipino movie in which I can understand it by just watching and not mind what they are saying. But I like the concept. I got curious if it is proven already or just a theory. Is there really a disorder like that? Can too much adrenaline pumping in our body make us do the impossible? It's really interesting to make a study about this.

Globe/TM Unlimited Night Call

The unlimited night call from TM is cheaper than that of Globe. So, instead of using my Globe sim, I bought a TM sim for only P10 and tried this service before it is aired in the media. Connecting calls is really not a problem and registering does not take long. You have to maintain a 6.50 balance to enjoy the service. All in all the lowest reload you have to make is 22 pesos to avail it (Php 15 for the register and 6.50 to make calls). But after the ads had been appearing in TV, making calls had been frustrating. I have to make more than 5 calls in order to connect because it always says "Network Busy" and there had been times that once I got connected, an answering machine will play saying my credit will expire soon. So, I have to go to the repeated redialing again. Why then they have to offer such service if they don't have the enough equipments or whatever you call that to cater to their promo users? The minutes I had to wait for my cellphone to automatically redial were wasted. But once you are connected, the possibility of cutting the connection is very minimal. Your efforts are then compensated. Another thing, register after 11 pm to still enjoy few more unlimited minutes for the following night.
Also, call before 6am and you won't be charged if your call passed the 6am limit. It will not be cut.
Calling from TM to Globe and vice versa is still possible.

Smart FlatRate for only P10

It's much cheaper for me to use this promo because Smart says that it's good for 3 mins when actually it's 5 mins. So, the rate is just like P2/min not P3.

It's also better than that of Globe's because their 3 mins is really 3 mins. Haha. Even their .05 cents per second every Sunday. THe promo I am much into Globe is the Sulitxt because it's much cheaper than that of Smart's.

It automatically stops after 4:59 mins.

How to Connect to the Internet with Phone as Modem (Globe)?

Have you heard about the P5/15 mins surfing from Globe?
I have tried it and it's almost as fast as that of Smart. I used an N70/6230 and a laptop.

What you will need:
1. Cellphone with Modem installed like N70, N82 as long as there's a modem options
2. Globe Sim card with at least P10 load.
Enable your GPRS. If you don't have the setting request for it by typing SET N70 and send to 2395. Once you have the configurations, Send TIME to 1111. The default setting is per kb browsing and we don't want that. Remember that you can only switch from kb>time>kb setting 3 times each day.
3. PC Suite suitable for your phone's model installed in your PC or laptop.
4. Data cable for your phone to connect to your laptop. You can buy it in CD-R king for only 60 pesos

How it's done:
1. Make sure that you have a stable signal. 3G signal is not necessary.
2. Connect your cellphone to your computer using the data cable. PC Suite will automatically pop-up telling you that your phone is detected and it will show you the PC Suite menu.
3. Click the Connect to the internet Icon, the 3rd icon first row of icons.
4. A window will tell you that it automatically connects, you should cancel that and make click settings in that window.
5. Choose your phone model as your modem and click next.
6. Choose Globe Philippines from the service provider drop-down dialogue box.
7. Click done/Finish and it will now connect through your phone's modem using Globe philippines as service provider.

Note: after every 15 mins, you will be charged another P5. so watchout for your time if you want to save money.. Once done, you can revert back to kb browsing if you prefer it to use in your fone. Type KB and send to 1111. Watch out for my future post on how to browse unlimited for Free!

Update SmartLoad Menu (for Retailers)

How to Update your SmartLoad Menu:

No need to update your Smartload Menu, you can always use the Smart USSD. Just dial *343# and press the call button. It is always updated with Smart, TNT and SmartBro promos.

1. Type SLOAD and send to 343. You can also send PULL MENU to 343 if SLOAD will not work. Also ready tested them as of January 2014 and I got the Buddy Load Menu and Talk n Text Load Menu.

Note: your cellphone autokeypad lock and screensaver must be disabled. You must not have any transactions within 15 mins after you sent it. Because the message alert tone will not alert once you receive the confirmation msg. It will be in a form of a flash message. If you failed to follow at least one of these, the update may not work.

Or you may request Smart's Customer Service to do this by calling *888 (thanks for the comment below). They will redirect you to the proper retailer representative.

Smart Upsize

Smart Upsize 20 load had already ended last October 31. But the Alltext Upsize20 is still there until November 30. Alltext Upsize20 is an Upsize of the Alltext20 load which consists of 150 texts to Smart/TNT and 10 texts to other networks. When you upsize, you just have to add P5 so that will be P25. This is only available for Smart Buddy users.

There is also Upsize30 which is now a regular service offer from Smart. It has P30 airtime and 30 txts to Smart/TNT. This e-load costs only P35.

I hope the P100 load from Smart will have free txts. The P30 load has 3 free txts, how come the P100 load doesn't have?!

If you want to k update your Smartload Menu to cater the Upsize service,
Text SLOAD to 343. Free of charge.

You can also talk to their Smartload Customer Service by dialling *333 to let them update your menu for free but follow their instructions carefully because updating through them requires that you won't receive text within 15 mins and you have to turn off your screensaver to receive the updates.
