How to Download Videos Hosted from a Site (i.e.Youtube, Dailymotion, etc.)?

You're getting tired of Youtube's buffering because you are in slow connection, or you want to save the movie in your drive for future use? You don't want to download torrents for the new movies, or your video is hosted at some site and it doesn't have the download option, then read through this post.

Before, I use online applications to do this, like vixy.net, catchvideo.net and savevid.com. But the time to convert the video URL into a downloadable link is adding time to your internet browsing. And sometimes when you are at a computer shop, there will be instances that the computer doesn't support java because the java plug-in is not installed on the browser. If you download the java and install it, it will take about 15-30 minutes depending on the internet speed. Within half an hour, you still haven't started your video download.

I suggest that you install a program for more convenient downloading (even if you are at the internet shop, they sometimes have Deep Freeze, so it's not a bother). I heard about a program called Youtube downloader, but I would not suggest it since sometimes it doesn't work and it fetch slow. My picks are these:

Orbit downloader (Installer size: 4.33MB)
Free software. Once installed in your computer, it integrates itself to IE, Firefox, Maxthon and Opera. So, whenever you visit a site with FLV or any streaming media (such sites are Youtube, Dailymotion, Tuduo), it will automatically recognize the video or mp3 contents and will provide you with the download link at that instant. Just hover over the video and the GrabIt button will appear. Besides online media, Orbit also functions as downloader for any type of file. Orbit has an accelerator and supports pause and resume of downloads.

Internet Download Manager (Installer size: 4.50MB)
Shareware software - can only be used for free for 30 days, after that you need to register the product with a serial key. It supports a wide range of browsers unlike Orbit. It can be integrated in Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, MSN Explorer, AOL, Opera, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firebird, Avant Browser, MyIE2, Maxthon, and very recently to Chrome browsers. Whenever you visit a site with online streaming, just wait for the site to load and look for IDM "download video" button floating on your screen (it can be near the video or at the lower portion of your screen). It can accelerate downloads up to five times your internet download speed. It also has a resume and pause function. You can also tweak IDM to download torrents since accelerators are not popular in torrent downloaders. IDM can also be used to download any type of file from the internet.

So, with the downloaders installed in your laptop or desktop, video downloading will no longer be that time-consuming!
