So, you are into the social media hype called Facebook and you constantly post shoutouts, upload pictures and browse your friend's profiles? Worry no more with the fees, Globe and Smart now offer cheap and free Facebook access.

With Smart, you can go online with just one-peso for 10 minutes. Just text PISO (space) FB to 4545 and use the Facebook app or your phone's stock browser to start.
Update: Smart has just launched its FREE unlimited access to the seven (7) social networks namely, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Google+, Waze, Path and LinkedIn via PowerApp which can be downloaded from Google Playstore. This promo is until January 15, 2014 and can be subscribed by texting FREE (space) SOCIAL to 5555 (for Smart Prepaid, Postpaid, Infinity and Talk ‘N Text) to 9990 (for Smart Freedom Plan subscribers) or 7577 (for Smart Postpaid All-In users).

But if you are a Globe or TM user, say hoorah! because FB browsing is for FREE until January 20, 2014. Even with zero maintaining balance, you can avail this freebie. Just text FREE (space) FB to 8888 and you will receive a confirmation regarding its activation. Another way is to dial *143# select 2 (Free FB), another menu will appear then select 1 (Start Now). You will receive a confirmation once it is activated. But note that you can only avail this promo using the Facebook app or using your phone's stock browser. Using Opera Mini, UC Web or other browsers will charge you with the regular rate. Also, if you click links from Facebook and it redirects you to an outside site, you will encounter a notification page that you are about to visit a site outside face and you will have a loan of PhP10 if you continue.
