Upgrade your PSP CFW to 4.01 M33 (up to 5.00 M33-4)
I am a newbie with PSP thing so I only post things which I have tried. I have just upgraded my 3.71 M33 to 4.01 M33. Some say that you cannot directly upgrade your 3.71 M33 to that but proof is more powerful. This is a really easy tutorial. For those using PSP 3000, no hack for you since your PSP is still unhackable.
Disclaimer: I hold no responsibility in case you brick your PSP but as I mentioned above, the process is tried already. Do at your own risk.
What you need
Any PSP with CFW of at least 3.52 M33-4 for Fat and 3.60 M33 for Slim.
Plug your PSP into an electricity since we don’t want the installation to be interrupted due to low battery.
PSP USB cable
Download 4.01 M33 Update Mirror
Download the 4.01 Official SONY Update File
Procedure
1. Connect your PSP to computer and enable USB mode.
2. Extract 4.01 M33 file and copy the UPDATE folder to F:/PSP/GAME/. I am using F:/ but others call them ms0:/. Extract the 4.01 Official Sony Update file and rename the EBOOT.PBP file to 401.PBP. Copy the 401.PBP to the F:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ folder. Disable USB mode.
3. Go to the XMB of your PSP (this is the Menu where you browse your PSP) then Select GAME>Memory Stick>4.01M33 Update. The screen will turn black this is normal. Follow the instructions given in the screen. You will be taken to the Sony Update screen and do the update. Don’t turn off your PSP or cancel the Update for it can brick your PSP. Follow instructions that will appear on the update. It will restart your computer.
4. You now have the 4.01 M33 version. Isn’t that a cookie?
5.Next thing you have to do is install the 1.50 Kernel Add-on for you to enjoy 1.50 homebrews. This is optional but we want a better PSP. This is only applicable for FAT users. Download 1.50 PBP Add 1.50 Kernel file. Connect your PSP to computer and enable USB mode.
6. Copy 150.PBP file in the root of your PSP (F:/).
7. Download 1.50 Kernel Add-On for CFW 4.01 M33 and transfer this to F:/PSP/GAME4XX. Disconnect PSP from your computer. Go to XMB and navigate to GAME>Memory Stick>1.50 Kernel Add-on. Just follow again the instructions that will pop onscreen until the installation is complete. You now have a better PSP.
8. If you have homebrews files, you will have to paste them in F:/PSP/GAME150 folder.
To update your new CFW to M33-2, you will have to download the M33-2 Update extract and replace the UPDATE folder in F:/PSP/GAME/. Go again to the XMB of your PSP and Select GAME>Memory Stick>4.01M33-2 Update. Run the update and just follow the instructions that will appear onscreen. It will restart again and now you have your 4.01M33-2 CFW. This process goes with other upgrading versions.
Now that you have the 4.01 M33-2, there’s a newer version for you, the CFW 5.00 M33-4. The least requirement is 4.01 M33-2. Download 5.00M33-4 Update Mirror and unzip it. Copy the UPDATE folder and replace the UPDATE folder in F:/PSP/GAME/. Download official Sony Update File. Transfer the official Sony update file also in the UPDATE folder. Then run the same process you did before. All homebrew files go to F:/PSP/GAME5XX.
There is a 1.50 Kernel Add-on for 5.00 M33 for FAT user. Download here. Connect your PSP via USB and copy the file to F:/PSP/GAME5XX. Unplug your PSP and Go to XMB>GAME>Memory Stick and Select the 1.50 Kernel Add-on update. Follow instructions onscreen. Your PSP is no longer better, it’s in its best.
Feels like an achievement, huh?

How to Read Ebooks using PSP?
Do you use your fone to read ebooks? Well, there is also another way where ebooks came in handy, use your psp (though psp is a lot bigger and heavier). I used to read them through my china fone (i will make new post regarding the good things of having that illegal fone).
Actually, there are 4 ways. I'll list them in order of ascending preferability.
Actually, there are 4 ways. I'll list them in order of ascending preferability.
- Save the ebook as html file. Copy the content of the pdf format manually and paste it in MS Word. Click 'Save as', drop down option in the FILE TYPE box, choose html, not the htm file,ok? Name it in a way that it will be easily typed and remembered since you'll have to type it in your psp like, x.Html. Send to the root memory of your PSP (connect first the PSP to your desktop with usb cable then enable usb mode). Your drive name can be f: or g:. Unable usb mode in your PSP after transfer. Go to the 'Internet Browser' of your psp. Click 'no' if asked to connect to the internet. Press triangle and go to 'Tools' (the toolbox icon). Set cache setting to 'Do not use' and ok. Go to address bar and enter 'file:/x.Html'. 'file:/' input shortcut is under 'http://' button while 'html' is entered by pressing the GHI4. Enter. Your file will load now. The problem with this is that when you have long ebook, error will occur due to less virtual memory. And you cannot bookmark them, it starts from the top everytime you open it. It's tiring to browse long pages.
- You can upload the pdf file in your e-mail address and open it using a PSP with internet connection. There won't be problem with the low memory. But of course, it needs active internet connection. You can't read your e-book while riding a bus.
- You can use the PSP Ebook Creator. It's free! DOWNLOAD PSP EBOOK CREATOR. Install it in your desktop. Open the pdf file, ctrl+a, copy, paste in notepad, and save it as txt file. Or you can direct the conversion in adobe or foxit under FILE Menu. Plug PSP to desktop and enable usb mode. Run ebook creator. Go to FILE>load ebook and look for the saved txt file of your ebook. Ok. For the output folder, go to FILE>OUTPUT>PSP>PICTURE. With this application, you can instantly preview your ebook in the PSP image found at the center as you personalize the view (portrait or landscape), fonts and font color, background color and headers. I suggest you use dirty white background with black Georgia font in 12 pt. Enter the title of your ebook in the box beside BUILD EBOOK button then hit the build button. It takes time to convert the txt file to jpeg. Also, it eats about 20-30 MB of memory. When done, unable usb mode. Go to PICTURES in your PSP XMB and you'll find a new folder with the ebook title u have entered. Read it in jpeg format. Just press L or R in your PSP to turn pages. Sometimes an ebook takes up 1000+ images and psp only views 1000 of it. So to continue reading the remaining pages, erase the previous images.
- Use Bookr, a free application that let's you read txt file and pdf formats (no conversion needed). Download BOOKR, you can also download here. Note:this installer works only with PSP CFW version (those with M33 like 3.71 M33). If you have the ofw one (no M33) then only the above 3 applies to you. If you got confused on where is the download option in that page, you have to click the icon/picture below the warning that this file might harm your computer (but it won't). To install, plug your psp to pc and enable usb mode. Remember the drive path of your psp (f: or g:), you will need it in the installation. Run the bookr installer and type your psp drive and your done. Send your ebook files to PSP>GAMES>BOOKR>BOOKS. Disconnect psp from desktop and run bookr in GAMES. Read the help there. It will teach you how to use bookr. Sometimes you have to save your ebook with bigger font. Use comic sans 13pt. Zoom in or out the views to make the pages fit the screen. You can bookmark pages with this application. It takes less memory storage along with your saved ebooks.
That's it! You've got your choices.
Thanks to those people who created such good applications!

How to run ISO/CSO games in PSP
How to run ISO/CSO games in PSP
IMPORTANT: Only works in FAT PSP with CUSTOM FIRMWARE, any version. If you don't have a CFW, you can make one here. If you have the OFFICIAL FIRMWARE 5.03 or PSP 3000, sorry guys, still NO HACKS for that.
DISCLAIMER: Do at your own risk. I do not hold any obligation if you bricked your PSP throughout the process. I tried this already and it worked without bricking my PSP. I think this process has 0 probability of bricking your PSP.
1. Connect your PSP through USB to your computer.
2. Download your ISO/CSO game. Enable USB mode in your PSP and make a new folder named "ISO" (all CAPS) in the root of your PSP, that is beside your PSP, MUSIC, VIDEO, PICTURE folders.
3. Transfer your ISO/CSO game in the "ISO folder".
4. Disable the USB mode of your PSP and turn it off. Remove the battery and replace it again.
5. Hold the RIGHT trigger as you slide the power ON button. A screen with black background and small red and white letters will appear. Sometimes, it takes me 3 times to make this work.
6. Go to Configuration, press X.
7. Make the GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW to CURRENTLY IN: 1.50 Kernel by pressing X.
8. Then select BACK and EXIT.
9. Turn ON your PSP and press the SELECT Button. Make the UMD ISO MODE to SONY NP9660 by pressing the right arrow button in your PSP. Then press X in EXIT.
